Too Much On My Plate

September 19, 2010 at 3:41 am (Really interesting world events)

I am a full time online college student. I attend school at the University of Phoenix. I am just weeks away from getting my Associates Degree in IT, with an emphasis on computer networking and telecommunications. I will be going on for another two years to get my Bachelor’s Degree as well. I am also a full time employee. I work at a foundry called Brillion Iron Works, Inc. I work 8-10 hours a day, six days a week. I am also married and have a son.

I have managed to average a 3.7 G.P.A. but I am afraid I am at the end of my rope. I am so burnt out it isn’t even funny. I never get enough sleep, I don’t care about my job too much any more, and I really lost most of my drive when it comes to doing my assignments for school. One big problem I have is that no one in my family really seems to understand how hard what I am doing really is. They don’t know what it is like to put in a hard 9 hours at work, then come home to do advanced algebra, when you can’t keep your eyes open at your laptop. All you want to do is go to sleep, but you can’t because you have another 1500 words to go on a paper you are writing.

I keep telling myself that it will all be worth it in the end, but will it? I don’t know how much more I can take of this. I need a break, and I need it soon!
